Wondering Which Democrats Refuse To Co-Sponsor The Bill To Raise The Minimum Wage? Here's The List

How Can A Democrat Oppose Raising The Minimum Wage?

Most Democrats (around 78% of House Dems) are co-sponsors of the Raise the Wage Act ($17 minimum wage by 2028). I thought I’d give you an opportunity to see which Democrats joined the Republicans in refusing to co-sponsor.

Progressive congressional candidate Pervez Agwan is running ing against one of these corrupt reactionaries, Big Oil darling Lizzie Fletcher. This morning he told me that Fletcher’s “refusal to advocate for a raised minimum wage just shows how out of touch she is with the folks in District 07. The minimum wage hasn't increased since 2009; meanwhile the cost of living has skyrocketed and people are struggling to pay their bills. We need this increase, and I would co-sponsor legislation to make it happen without hesitation if I'm elected to Congress.” If you’d like to help people in the Houston area make that change, you can contribute to Pervez’s campaign here.

Bernie, in introducing the same bill in the Senate, said “The $7.25 an hour federal minimum wage is a starvation wage. It must be raised to a living wage– at least $17 an hour. In the year 2023 a job should lift you out of poverty, not keep you in it. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality and record-breaking corporate profits, we can no longer tolerate millions of workers being unable to feed their families because they are working for totally inadequate wages. Congress can no longer ignore the needs of the working class of this country. The time to act is now.”

Eventually the people on the list above will be asking for money for their campaigns. Don’t give it to them— and don’t give it to the DCCC, which spends big to support them. Are they better than Republicans? Not on raising the minimum wage; most ion them are the same as Republicans.

coupla things:

1) clearly this is a campaign thing for SOME democraps. NOTHING comes to the floor for a vote until a $peaker is named. And NOTHING from democraps can come to the floor, even for a sure defeat, from a nazi $peaker.

1a) but I have no doubt that you'll fall for it anyway.

2) the sheer number of democraps openly against this COULD imply that there may be 10 or 15 nazis who might actually vote for this. I'm quite sure that your democrap party does NOT want to raise the minimum (otherwise they'd have structurally done it in 2009 or 2021). So they will need to lose by getting to 218 nay votes.

3) unless they wish…

ahhh... and hater couldn't help himself. again.

maybe some day you'll try to explain why you disagree with something instead of just trowelling on the hate for the messenger.

nah. too much trouble. hate is just what you do.

Look, naziism is based on hate. it's the cornerstone and foundation and driving force.

YOU were born to be a nazi. just accept your fate. resistance (not that you even pretend to resist) is futile. you were assimilated at birth.

still failing to connect the dots. this is not an individual thing. this is the party ratfucking their voters, again and still, and these are the democraps who either volunteered or were told to do this or their bribe money would be withheld. Could be the DCCC threatening; could be corporations or billionaires; could be their favorite xPACs. Just perusing the list:

1) I'm surprised at its length. I would have expected many more.

2) Maxine Waters? really?

3) most of these would be volunteers. And some of them were DCCC darlings who they pushed ahead of some of your BA candidates last time.

And yet you STILL believe democraps when they SAY they wanna do this or that... and…
