Yesterday, we had our first indication of which freshmen Democrats the Republicans will be able to count on to support their agenda. The Laken Riley Act passed 264-159. 48 Democrats joined all 216 Republicans. These are the 13 freshmen, only one of whom hasn’t joined the corporate-owned New Dems, who crossed the aisle to back the GOP bill. I hope you didn't vote for any of this crap:
Janelle Bynum (New Dem-OR)
Shomani Figures (New Dem-AL)
Laura Gillen (New Dem-NY)
Maggie Goodlander (New Dem-NH)
Adam Gray (Blue Dog-CA)
John Mannion (New Dem-NY)
April Delaney (New Dem-MD)
Kristen Rivet (New Dem-MI)
Dave Min (CA)
Josh Riley (New Dem-NY)
Suhas Subramanyam (New Dem-VA)
Derek Tran (New Dem-CA)
George Whitesides (New Dem-CA)
I feel 100% sure in writing that none of them will very be on the Blue America Worthy Incumbent list. Wonder who’s on it so far this year? Take a look… and contribute a few dollars to their campaigns if you can and agree.
The bill requires the detention and deportation of any undocumented migrant arrested for theft (including shop-lifting) or burglary— even if they are never charged, let alone convicted. Here’s Jamie Raskin, ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee explaining why it’s a bad bill and why Democrats shouldn’t support it:
The only Democrat co-sponsoring the bill in the Senate is… not Joe Manchin; he’s gone… not Kyrsten Sinema; she’s gone… nope, it was Pennsylvania contrarian John Fetterman.
