Which Side Of The Class Struggle Is YOUR Democratic Party On?

Predatory billionaire Ken Griffin is one of the biggest Republican Party contributors in the country, although when he senses a corrupt-enough Republican-lite Democrat, he’s willing to kick in there too. He especially loved Rahm Emanuel and funneled a couple of million dollars into his mayoral campaigns, plus $850,000 to Chicago Forward, Emanuel’s shady super-PAC. Still, he’s given at least a quarter billion to Republicans. In a World Economic Summit interview Wednesday, he admitted that Trump has already made the U.S. 20% poorer— which he sees as an opportunity to further enriching himself. He’s a perfect example of why billionaires should not be permitted to exist.
Brent Griffiths reported that “Griffith said that Trump's actions have unnerved financial markets and weakened confidence in US Treasuries, ‘eroding’ the most powerful brand. ‘We put that brand at risk,’ he told Semafor senior editor Gina Chon. ‘And, as you and I both know, it could take a very long time to remove the tarnish from the brand.’”
Griffith said that “In the financial markets, no brand compared to the brand of the U.S. Treasuries— the strength of the U.S. dollar, the creditworthiness of U.S. Treasuries. No brand came close. We put that brand at risk. It can take a very long time to remove the tarnish on a brand. It can be a lifetime to repair the damage that has been done.”
How can Democrats lose against these clowns? Well… just look at what the corporate-aligned Democratic Party has turned into. On Wednesday night, Rahm Emanuel raised $6.6 million in L.A. for his superPAC— ostensibly to run for Illinois senator. Or look at the party’s congressional leadership offering no effective opposition to Trump— or in Chuck Schumer’s case, actually conspiring to help move along the Trump agenda.
On Wednesday while Griffith was talking to the World Economic Summit, NPR was reporting that Bernie said on Here & Now that “Democrats need to put up candidates who can channel the anger of voters who are worried about recent moves by President Trump. ‘I think support for this right-wing agenda, which is not only about authoritarianism and oligarchy, it is about a proposal which will give over, if passed, over $1 trillion in tax breaks to the top 1% and allow for massive cuts to Medicaid, nutrition, housing and other programs,’ Sanders said. ‘If you poll that, I would guess that 80-90% of the American people think that that is totally insane. So I think in fact in many ways the Trump administration is now on the defensive with their tariff policies, which are going to raise prices. Now what we need are candidates and a political movement which stands clearly with the working class of this country… I think the primary issue of the moment is the class issue, the fact that you have so few people owning so much wealth and so many people who are living paycheck to paycheck. Democrats have talked a good game, but you tell me, how many establishment Democrats make the point that we're the only major country on Earth not to guarantee health care to all people?’”
