Of course, HAL, isn't the only one I consult on this kind of thing. When I first met Ted Lieu, he was doing power work in the California legislature, passing progressive legislation that the Democratic governor was nervous to sign but that Lieu got passed anyway. This morning, he told me that "In the aftermath of the disastrous Dobbs ruling by the Supreme Court, our state Legislatures are at the forefront of protecting reproductive freedom across the nation.
