Trump, Vance, Musk, Rubio, Waltz Stabbed Ukraine In The Back— Will FL-06 Voters Put On The Brakes?

Trump Will Be Remembered As The Worst President— And The Most Hated

When Mike Waltz was elected to Congress and while he served in Congress, he was a supporter of America aid to Ukraine. Now the Trump has made him National Security Advisor… he just repeats whatever Trump wants to hear. Yesterday, for example, he said, “What we need to hear from President Zelensky is that he has regret for what happened, he’s ready to sign this mineral deal, and that he’s ready to engage in peace talks. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.” And then Trump announced that Zelenskyy doesn’t want peace and that the U.S.— aside from slapping tariffs on Canada and Mexico— is has stopped financing new weapons sales to Ukraine and is considering freezing weapons shipments from U.S. stockpiles, moves that threaten Kyiv’s ability to fight at a critical time in its battle against Russian forces.”

The election to replace Waltz in the House is less than a month away— April 1. When Blue America endorsed Josh Weil almost 2 weeks ago, none of our members knew who he was. That’s our job… to introduce him and persuade them to start contributing to his campaign. We had an ambitious goal— the raise $1,000. The results shocked me; so far we’ve raised $7,000. We’ve been doing this for a long time. For a small independent PAC like Blue America, $7,000 for an unknown candidate in a red district (R+14) in an off-year election… that just doesn’t happen.

One metric: Facebook ads. The big spenders right now are AOC, Chris Murphy, the DNC, the RNC, Mark Kelly, Hakeem Jeffries, Jon Ossoff, the DSCC… Josh is out-spending each of them. He’s not just spending more than Randy Fine, his MAGA opponent, he’s spending more than anyone else is spending on political ads on Facebook.

His campaign has raised around $7 million, mostly in $27 contributions. That’s breathtaking. That’s Bernie-territory. The DCCC should study what he’s doing to inspire people. Spencer Slovic from Mycorrhiza Digital is creating the fundraising ad campaign, like the one above that hekelped bring in $1,000,000 this weekend. No one is doing what Mycorrhiza Digital and their fundraising partners at Key Lime Strategy are doing. “Democrats are finally waking up,” Spencer told us last night. “They were sleepwalking in 2024, but now that Trump is actually in office they're deciding to fight back, and there's just one place to put their money that will actually do anything right now: in the special elections for Congress in Florida. Josh is showing the energy people want to see, a proud progressive fighting back against Trump's destructive policies with some actual policies of our own. He's channeling the same energy that raised tens of millions for Doug Jones in 2017, but here put toward a campaign that could actually change the majority in Congress and get stuff done.”

With the rest of the free world— including patriotic Americans— rallying around Ukraine, Trump and Musk are rallying around Putin, who GOP Senator Bill Cassidy (LA) reminded his colleagues “routinely throws people who disagree with him out of windows or blows up the planes they are in. He has not just invaded Ukraine. He is killing anyone who disagrees with him.” The new Marist poll indicates that Trump’s honeymoon with the American people is over. 56% of Americans, including 65% of independents, think he’s “been rushing to make changes without considering the impact… 55% of U.S. residents, including 61% of independents, believe the staff and funding cuts to federal government agencies will do more harm than good. 60% of residents believe most federal government employees are essential to the functioning of the United States… 71% of adults nationally either oppose or strongly oppose the U.S. taking control of Gaza” and only 34% of Americans think, like Trump, that the U.S. has been giving Ukraine too much aid.

Just 39% of Americans have a positive opinion of Musk and just 45% think Trump is taking the country in the right direction. And that was all before Trump announced he’s cutting military aid to our beleaguered ally.

Conservative careerist Democrats— who try to bill themselves as “moderates”— are GOP-adjacent and instinctively turn their noses up at progressives like Josh Weil and the people who support him (FDR Democrats). Please consider contributing to Josh’s campaign here. Politico reporter Adam Wren had this pinned on his Twitter account yesterday:

By the way, another Democratic outfit, Unrig the Economy, has been doing an excellent job with its non-candidate specific ad campaigns lately. This one started running yesterday:
