There Are Floridians Who Want Representatives Who Aren't Brain-Dead Bigots With A Penis For A Head

Only Assholes disagree that “It has to be possible to feel the pain in one community without denying it in another”

Brian Mast (R-FL): "There are very few innocent Palestinian civilians"

Yesterday, Mark DeSaulnier, signed on as the 33rd co-sponsor to Cori Bush’s ceasefire resolution, H.Res 786. The resolution urges the Biden Administration “to call for an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine, to send humanitarian aid and assistance to Gaza, and to save as many lives as possible. Bush: “I am grieving for every Palestinian, Israeli, and American life lost to this violence, and my heart breaks for all those who will be forever traumatized because of it. War and retaliatory violence doesn’t achieve accountability or justice; it only leads to more death and human suffering… The United States bears a unique responsibility to exhaust every diplomatic tool at our disposal to prevent mass atrocities and save lives. We can’t bomb our way to peace, equality, and freedom. With thousands of lives lost and millions more at stake, we need a ceasefire now.”

These are the co-sponsors

  • Cori Bush (D-MO)

  • Rashida Tlaib (D-MI)

  • Ande Carson (D-IN)

  • Summer Lee (D-PA)

  • Delia Ramirez (D-IL)

  • Jamaal Bowman (D-NY)

  • Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ)

  • Chuy Garcia (D-IL)

  • Jonathan Jackson (D-IL)

  • AOC (D-NY)

  • Ilhan Omar (D-MN)

  • Ayanna Pressley (D-MA)

  • Nydia Velázquez (D-NY)

  • Barbara Lee (D-CA)

  • Pramila Jayapal (D-WA)

  • Greg Casar (D-TX)

  • Alma Adams (D-NC)

  • Maxwell Frost (D-FL)

  • Jim McGovern (D-MA)

  • Joaquin Castro (D-TX)

  • Veronica Escobar (D-TX)

  • Betty McCollum (D-MN)

  • Al Green (D-TX)

  • Maxine Waters (D-CA)

  • Kweisi Mfume (D-MD)

  • Donald Beyer (D-VA)

  • Mark Pocan (D-WI)

  • Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA)

  • Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ)

  • Hank Johnson (D-GA)

  • Becca Balint (D-VT)

  • Gabe Vasquez (D-NM)

  • Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA)

UPDATE: John Garamendi (D-CA), Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Jamie Raskin (D-MD). Note: Robert Garcia is a former Republican but I doubt if he could persuade even one of his former brethren to climb on board the love train.

With AIPAC and other Israel-centric groups threatening— credibly— to spend over $100 million recruiting and supporting primary challengers to any members who refuse to toe the extremist Likud line, it takes a lot of guts to back the call for a ceasefire. Several non-incumbent candidates have done so as well, particularly Pervez Agwan (Houston) and Maebe Pudlo (Los Angeles) and we urge you to consider contributing to their campaigns.

Yes, but scant few. And of that scant few, an even scanter few actually want people who care about people and democracy and the environment... shit like that.

I bet even Berchtesgaden, Bavaria had one or two like that. After hitler was in power for a year, however, I bet there weren't any there any more.

but a scant few of a scant few won't ever elect anyone. It is, after all, our nazi central.
