Scott Perry Might Be The Only GOP Nazi Who Can Be Defeated— But The DCCC Is Running A Republican

Stelson Switched Registration At The Same Time She Declared Her Candidacy

Scott Perry behaves— on the floor and off— as though he were in a solid red district with a big enough Republican vote4r edge so that he doesn’t have to worry about swing voters and independents, like his cronies Marjorie Traitor Greene, whose district has an R+22 PVI, and Matt Gaetz, whose district has an R+19 PVI. But Perry’s district, PA-10, has a PVI of R+5. The partisan lean is R+9, compared to Traitor Greene’s R+45 and Gaetz’s R+38. They can behave the way they do knowing it doesn’t matter at all. Perry is either more courageous or a lot stupider, for waving, figuratively, the Nazi flag in public. The district includes all of swingy Dauphin County and parts of much redder Cumberland and York. Trump beat Biden by 4 points in 2020. But two years later, when Doug Mastriano, a MAGA psychopath much like Perry, was the GOP nominee for governor, Democrat Josh Shapiro won the district by a whopping 12 points!

In 2022 Perry was reelected, while losing Dauphin County to progressive Democrat Shamaine Daniels. Because she’s a progressive, the DCCC refused to help her and Perry outraised her $2,948,007 to $405,972. The House Freedom Caucus spent over $800,000 fighting for Perry, the DCCC and House Majority PAC combined spent zero on Daniels. Zero. She would have won had then spent a fraction of what they spent on corrupt conservatives like California loser Rudy Salas. But… what are you going to do.

This cycle, the DCCC has exactly the kind of candidate it wants— not just a conservative, a lifetime Republican, Janelle Stelson, who basically switched her party registration a few hours before she announced she was running for Congress. She’s raised over $2 million and the DCCC has already spent $1.5 million bolstering her. Two PACs that support conservative Democrats— Democracy First and Reid Hoffman’s WelcomePAC— have kicked in, respectively, $266,149 and $277,172 helping Stelson. They may even flip the seat and burden the House Democrats with another worthless Kyrsten Sinema type “Democrat.” Stelson, who doesn’t live in the district and is already a New Dem, is well-known because she was a TV news reader for almost 4 decades.

And don’t think Vance and Trump are the only detestable Republicans claiming immigrants it dogs and cats. During the primary, a tape came out with Stelson claiming that Asians eat “cat tacos.” Yep, a Republican from head to toe— except for all the “D” next to her name and all that DCCC money. So isn’t I surprised yesterday when Punchbowl ran a long news story by Mica Soellner about the PA-10 race with not a mention of Stelson having spent her whole life, until last year, as a Republican.

Presumably written for her by the DCCC and NRCC, Soellner began by cheerleading for Stelson: “Political newcomer Janelle Stelson sees herself as House Democrats’ best chance at defeating conservative stalwart Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA). Stelson, a longtime central Pennsylvania news anchor, has a high name ID in the 10th District and is touting her journalism background to try to convince voters she has a grasp on local issues [even though— also not mentioned by Soellner— she lives in Lancaster County]… On paper, Stelson is running a boilerplate Democratic campaign. She’s hit Perry on abortion, democracy issues and has expressed her desire to be a bipartisan member of Congress. She’s stuck to talking about key issues like health care and the economy.” Yes, she’s running to be a “bipartisan” member of Congress and the New Dem-controlled DCCC is pouring money into her race because they LOVE bipartisan members on Congress who keep them from ever having to do anything “too progressive.” And no, that isn’t the kind thing Punchbowl ever hints at. They just want to be friends with everyone. Helps them with access.

Soellner did mention though that Hakeem Jeffries’ House Majority PAC has lept into the race as well, with this new ad running in the Harrisburg media market:

I should mention that 2024 is the year with the fewest progressives on the DCCC Red-to-Blue list— really just one, Sue Altman in New Jersey, on whom the DCCC has spent a whopping $4,000, while the Republicans’ Congressional Leadership Fund has spent $1,239,199 on her opponent and that was supplemented by South Africa fascist Elon Musk who kicked in $557,757 against Sue. Thank goodness for the Working Families Party. While the DCCC is frittering away their money on conservative “bipartisan” candidates like Stelson, the Working Families Party has spent $368,234 helping to get Altman’s message out to the voters. If you’d like to chip in, you can do it here.

Here’s another article that doesn’t mention Janelle Stelson’s party switch:

https://keystonenewsroom.com/2024/06/10/janelle-stelson-keystone-interview/

That’s was from The Keystone, a project of Courier, which identifies itself as “a pro-democracy news network that is building a more informed, engaged, and representative America by reaching audiences where they are online.”

If they missed Stelson’s party change too, they’re no better than the dying newspapers that private equity has been destroying for years.

every cycle, there have been fewer even pretend progressives that the DxCCs have given any support. Only one this time... zero next time.

Again, we agree about the DxCCs.

But when you blithely vote for a color and NOT for a set of principles held dear, the coming nazi reich is what you'll inevitably get.

Let's all raise a glass to the death of everyone in gaza... shall we?
