Pelosi & Her Cronies Are Pro-Choice-- Except When It's Politically Inconvenient (Henry Cuellar)

Yesterday and today, as everyone in the country talks about the Supreme Court anti-Choice leak, Pelosi and Clyburn have been in south Texas campaigning for anti-Choice fanatic-- and all around DINO-- Henry Cuellar. Asked how she could push so hard for Cuellar in a May 24 run-off against a progressive pro-choice woman, Jessica Cisneros, Pelosi replied, cluelessly and imperiously, "I support my incumbents. I support every one of them, from right to left. That is what I do." Hopefully not for much longer. Although... her handpicked heir apparent, values-free, Wall Street whore Hakeem Jeffries is also supporting Cuellar and, if anything would be a far worse leader than Pelosi.

By the way, Cuellar, career-long the most GOP-friendly Democrat in the Texas legislature and then the U.S. Congress, isn't just anti-Choice. He's also anti-union and is one of the embodiments of congressional corruption-- from Eagle Pass on the Texan border to the oligarch-run Azerbaijan oil fields.

Pelosi can shriek, ingenuously, about access to abortion being is a human right but her overt support for Henry Cuellar just exposes her-- and the party she leads-- as hypocrites with no ethical boundaries and as little more than old-skool, craven political opportunists.

This morning, Jessica Cisneros (you can contribute to her campaign here) released a statement calling on Pelosi and her cronies to withdraw their support for Cuellar. "At every turn," she wrote, "my Congressman has stood in opposition to the Democratic Party agenda...With the House majority on the line, he could very much be the deciding vote on the future of our reproductive rights and we cannot afford to take that risk. On May 24th, we will defeat the last anti-choice Democrat and South Texas will finally have a representative in their corner that will fight for their health care and freedom. I hope Democratic Party leadership won’t stand in the way of delivering for South Texans. I am ready to work with them to deliver on the Democratic agenda."

Her campaign noted that "Cuellar has been endorsed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, and Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries. Cuellar has been proudly anti-choice for decades, co-sponsoring anti-choice legislation with Republicans, supported Trump-era restrictions on abortion and reproductive healthcare, and was the only Democrat to vote in favor of the discriminatory Hyde amendment this Congress. In January, Cuellar received an award from the March for Life, an extreme anti-abortion group. Cuellar also has deep ties to extreme anti-abortion activists like Bradley Pierce of Abolish Abortion Texas. Last month, the Democratic Party decided to ban anti-union consultants from working with the party and its candidates. Meanwhile, it has continued to support Cuellar’s campaign despite the fact that he has prioritized the profits of his corporate donors over working people and has voted against the PRO Act twice."

Members of Congress endorsing Jessica include Bernie and Elizabeth Warren as well as House Members Jamaal Bowman, AOC, Katie Porter and Ayanna Pressley. Tonight, Clyburn-- another personification of transpartisan DC corruption-- will headline a San Antonio rally for Cuellar.

Hey crapper, Problems for you in the bathroom, again? Here it's just two references to excrement. At least that's better than yesterday when I noticed your colorful projection.

Replying to

if it looks like turds, stinks to high heaven... then only eat small portions, as in a taco vs. a burrito. Best to serve warm with some queso, no?
