North Carolina Crackpot Gubernatorial Candidate Mark Robinson's Saga Continues, Picks Up Speed

Just When The Stench Of Madison Cawthorn Had Finally Dissipated

Here’s To You, Mr. Robinson

Mark Robinson, now a solo-act with no campaign staffers, claims to be still actively campaigning. Over the weekend, Trump disinvited him to the big MAGA rally in Wilmington and never uttered his name, at least not in public. And Monday the Republican Governors Association wrote him off and cut off funds to his dead-in-the-water campaign. And late Monday, Brain Kemp, the Republican governor of Georgia and Bill Lee, the Republican governor of Tennessee, each withdrew his endorsement of Robinson. It’s worth noting that Lee is also the chairman of the Republican Governors Association.

Senator Thom Tillis made it clear Monday he’s not supporting Robinson. Asked if he plans to vote for him, Tillis said “That’s immaterial… I think you know I supported a primary opponent, right? I am waiting for Mr. Robinson to make a statement one way or the other. It is either having acknowledged that he did something wrong and he should step away, or acknowledge that CNN didn’t do their work and sue them. Those are the two choices. What I am going to be doing is supporting legislative candidates, supporting judicial candidates and supporting Trump. I won’t be campaigning for Robinson and how I vote is less relevant than what I am focused on. Trump needing to win, our legislatures needing to be strong, making it clear that North Carolina got turned around in 2011 because Republicans took control and we need to maintain control of North Carolina once more.” Robinson was last seen standing outside a bakery denouncing CNN. In fact, apparently unaware of what “discovery” means in a legal sense, he says he’s suing CNN when the election is over. I wouldn’t advise holding your breathe.

Unfortunately for his “case,” not to mention his electoral chances— now virtually nil anyway— newly unearthed data shows even closer links to porno sites than CNN reported! This on top of reports that he rejected offers of tech help to investigate CNN’s report. “His response in the wake of the report,” speculated WRAL, “likely played a role in the exodus of some staff members, they said. At least eight campaign staff members quit the campaign on Sunday, including Robinson's campaign manager and finance director.”

You may be wondering who has financed this self-proclaimed “Black Nazi” gubernatorial campaign. Judd Legum has that covered, noting that Robinson’s ugly, homophobic, anti-semitic, misogynistic, conspiracy theory-laced record hadn’t stopped the Republican Governors Association from spending well over $17.3 million— ad placement— on Robinson’s campaign. That money is all laundered cash from major corporations. “[T]the revenue these companies receive from customers,” explained Legum, “is being diverted to bolster Robinson's candidacy... Top corporate contributors to the RGA this cycle include Google ($585,000), Walmart ($570,000), CVS ($550,000), Microsoft ($550,000), Travelers Insurance ($460,000), Amazon ($450,000), Deloitte ($400,000), Charter Communications ($385,000), Oracle ($325,000), Pfizer ($300,000), Coca-Cola ($250,000), The Motion Picture Association ($250,000), and Wells Fargo ($250,000).”

During this election cycle, for example, DoorDash has donated $625,000 to the RGA. This money has been used to support Robinson and other Republican gubernatorial candidates. DoorDash's support of Robinson, who has repeatedly maligned LGBTQ people with crude rhetoric, through the RGA, is not consistent with the company's carefully crafted public image.
The company regularly features LGBTQ-owned restaurants that deliver using DoorDash. On June 1, 2024, the company posted a blog post celebrating Pride Month. DoorDash said that it would spend the month "celebrating the diversity and vibrancy within the LGBTQ+ community by emphasizing how race, gender, sexuality, ability, and other aspects intersect to form unique individual identities." The blog post claimed that DoorDash, "will continue to prioritize investing in and advancing opportunities for historically underrepresented people."
On June 4, 2024, the RGA received a $250,000 contribution from DoorDash. These funds, along with other large corporate contributions, helped finance the RGA's ad blitz in support of Robinson that started later in June.

Even before the scandal broke, Morning Consult’s newest polling showed Josh Stein beating Robinson by 13 points— 50-37%. In fact, they reported that “Only 78% of likely Republican voters say they’d vote for Robinson if the election were held today, compared with 94% who’d vote for Trump.”

The stench of mad cawthorn will never subside as long as NOBODY opens a window. It will simply be emitted by a different odious pos. Like this guy.

Since 1968, NOBODY, not you lesser evil voters nor your corrupt pussy party has opened a window. I guess you all either love the stench or have just become inured. Whatever.

Either fix it or quit bitching about that which you refuse to fix. YOUR choice. Not theirs.

"I am waiting for Mr. Robinson to make a statement one way or the other. It is either having acknowledged that he did something wrong and he should step away, or acknowledge that CNN didn’t do their work and sue them."

That's a pretty weird expectation considering how Trump handles his accusers.

He should be waiting for Robinson to embrace the story, claim it was a perfect perfect pussy post, and that the media is trying to weaponize the justice department against him.

Replying to

trump has led a very privileged life whereby he can do or say anything and NEVER be held accountable. I don't know if Robinson has that same status or not. But either way, he's not the type to ever admit doing wrong. Polling shows he's not going to win... but it also showed trump would lose in 2016... so anything is possible... in a lost shithole like this.
