The new YouGov poll took a look at some politicians who are in the news, aside from the ones they usually look at every week, like Biden and Pelosi, McCarthy and Trump. This was more about politicians who aren't known ex-offcio but because of current events. Let' start with a real in-the-news arch-villain-- corrupt Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema. Disappointingly, most people don't have enough information about her yet to have made up their minds. Among all registered voters:
very favorable- 5%
somewhat favorable- 14%
somewhat unfavorable- 14%
very unfavorable- 23%
don't know- 43%
Now just among Democrats:
very favorable- 3%
somewhat favorable- 8%
somewhat unfavorable- 19%
very unfavorable- 32%
don't know- 37%
And just among Republicans, who like her more than Democrats do:
very favorable- 5%
somewhat favorable- 19%
somewhat unfavorable- 8%
very unfavorable- 14%
don't know- 55%
OK, what about Joe Manchin, the male version of Sinema from West Virginia who's been around longer and is less of a sociopath though maybe more corrupt (hard to say). All registered voters:
very favorable- 6%
somewhat favorable- 19%
somewhat unfavorable- 18%
very unfavorable- 24%
don't know- 33%
Now just among Democrats his supposed political party:
very favorable- 2%
somewhat favorable- 13%
somewhat unfavorable- 229%
very unfavorable- 33%
don't know- 30%
And just among Republicans, although watch that smart ad, running now in West Virginia, above from a Democratic-affiliated group:
very favorable- 7%
somewhat favorable- 25%
somewhat unfavorable- 13%
very unfavorable- 13%
don't know- 42%
Now let's look at some of the Republican villains, although the pollsters left out whack-a-doodle twerps Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL). Let's start with Georgia crackpot Marjorie Traitor Greene, a more polarizing figure than the others. First, among all registered voters:
very favorable- 10%
somewhat favorable- 10%
somewhat unfavorable- 5%
very unfavorable- 40%
don't know- 35%
Now just among Republicans:
very favorable- 18%
somewhat favorable- 12%
somewhat unfavorable- 8%
very unfavorable- 14%
don't know- 48%
And just among Democrats, who are far more familiar with her than Republicans are:
very favorable- 2%
somewhat favorable- 8%
somewhat unfavorable- 4%
very unfavorable- 62%
don't know- 25%
They also did Traitor Greene's junior partner, Lauren Boebert, the QAnon freak from western Colorado. The problem is that no one knows who she is, so the numbers are kind of superfluous. That said, only 12% of registered voters had a positive impression and 34% had a negative impression, 29% of them very negative.
Now let's skip over to the Democrats Fox and the GOP spend inordinate amounts of time demonizing, starting with AOC-- all registered voters:
very favorable- 18%
somewhat favorable- 18%
somewhat unfavorable- 7%
very unfavorable- 38%
don't know- 19%
Now just among Democrats:
very favorable- 37%
somewhat favorable- 32%
somewhat unfavorable- 8%
very unfavorable- 5%
don't know- 18%
Among Republicans, being constantly brainwashed against her-- and know her twice as well as Traitor Greene:
very favorable- 3%
somewhat favorable- 2%
somewhat unfavorable- 7%
very unfavorable- 68%
don't know- 20%
And poor Liz Cheney (R-WY)-- hated by Republicans and not exactly loved by the Democrats. All registered voters:
very favorable- 8%
somewhat favorable- 21%
somewhat unfavorable- 17%
very unfavorable- 27%
don't know- 27%
Now just among Republicans:
very favorable- 5%
somewhat favorable- 9%
somewhat unfavorable- 13%
very unfavorable- 40%
don't know- 33%
And among Democrats-- who are not going to save her from Trump, who is determined to drive her out of politics-- you know, another ugly example of Republican cancel culture:
very favorable-10%
somewhat favorable- 35%
somewhat unfavorable- 21%
very unfavorable- 10%
don't know- 24%
As polling constantly proves, the opinions of colossally stupid people really are of no consequence to what they do.
The fundamental absence in americans, besides intellectual potential (zero), is skepticism. When there is no questioning of anything... you have a religion.
and no religious caliphate has ever NOT been total shit... to the religious as well as everyone else.
