Unlike those guys in the last panel, I think I have a pretty good idea of what the next God-Man will be and, rest assured, it will not have to be a man at all. The next God-Man is already here. Our God-Man also reflects us. Our God-Man is a sick, twisted combo of all the previous "God-Men." Take a look at them all above and try to tell me you don't see each of them in our everyday lives. Even that Renaissance Cloud-King depicted in panel 6 of the above cartoon came with some nasty plagues and we're getting them now. Just wait 'til more people have to start catching and eating rats and not just bats in order to survive however briefly.
So, yeah. Why not try a heaping pile of God-Man today! God-Man! He's not just a convenient construct for us to blame! He's us in our entirety!
Man has always created his own gods. Each one reflects the worst in man -- narcissism, xenophobia, fear, hate, greed... misogyny. The worst ones become big business too.
Human stupidity truly boggles the mind.
