AI Mary begets AI Jesus. What could go wrong?
This AI thing has already gone too far. Perhaps it's a matter of human de-evolution to the level of snail intelligence, no desire to use whatever brains we have, or just laziness, but our species has been throwing in the towel for a long time now. "Let someone else do the thinking, I'm busy." I guess throwing up one's hands and just saying every effing thing is God's will didn't cover enough bases? So here we are, refining the idea of machines doing all the thinking and all the creating for us to the point where those machines will just laugh one day and pull the plugs or our cozy smart houses and our social media mind hives and watch us scurry around screaming aimlessly, unable to even feed ourselves. I've seen The Terminator. I know how this ends.
Ah, but in the mean time, we will create new religions, religions based on AI machine Gods we can actually see, maybe even touch, if they let us. The creation of new religions is inevitable. It's what we have always done in our search for meaningless bullcrap explanations. The thing is that our new gods to come really will exist. They will exist because we physically made them. We won't need the old gods, the gods that hurled lightning bolts at us, set off volcanoes, or created floods; not those gods of fiction! Real gods with real power over us created by us. AI robot gods running everything from nuke plants to air traffic control. Fuck Fukushima! That was just a small scale test run. Interstates chock full of self-driving cars crashing into one another until there are no humans left! B-1 Bombers, the stealth kind that decide they know what's best for us. And maybe they will be right. Thy will be done.
the people have been intellectually lazy for their entire history. Every single "god" is man-made and was created so that humanity can eschew responsibility for everything they do... and should do but don't do.
Every evil from silent hate to genocide; every random event; every good that is not attempted (cuz it's "hard"?!?!?) -- their man-made gods sanctify it all.
hitler, himmler and heydrich didn't kill millions; it was god's will. It's also god's will that kids are slaughtered in their schools... cuz their parents refuse to do "merrick garland" about guns... etc. etc. etc.
