Midnight Meme Of The Day! Samuel Alito Is The Marjorie Traitor Greene Of The Supreme Court

Your Saturday Cartoon:

by Noah

Justice Samuel Alito is a subversive. That's first and foremost. And, yes, he is very much the Marjorie Traitor Greene of the court; a smarter, better educated and therefore more dangerous one, with a more powerful job, too. It's sad that America can still produce people with such twisted thinking but it does; more and more of them thanks to the ever proliferating brainwashing media tools out there. The fact that Christian Nationalist (Nazi) judge Alito and his wife have flown a clear sign at their home that they are traitorous "Stop The Steal" people is horrific enough. The fact that Chief Justice John Roberts has given his silent approval is even worse but not a bit surprising at all. As an additional sign of a lack of character on the Roberts court, Alito says it was his wife's fault. "She did it!" Hmmm, if that's true, should I surmise that maybe the Chief Justice's wife told him not to say anything about his fellow co-conspirator, or do anything about him? Nah, she didn't have to. He doesn't even believe in voting rights for all Americans of voting age and he wants even more gerrymandering to keep it that way.

Now, we have the revelation that, in addition to his "Stop The Steal" message, Alito also flies another flag that promotes the overthrow of the United States government, particularly the 2020 election (and any future elections, of course). The Alitos have been caught flying the outright Christian Nationalist "Appeal To Heaven" flag above their New Jersey beach house, doing it multiple days, in broad daylight. Was that the wifey's doing, too? Or, will he blame his daughter? Maybe, he'll tell us that Ginni Thomas came over and did it? Several Nazi-loving politicians are also bigly fans of the same flag. House Speaker Johnson displays one openly, right at the door to his office in the Capitol Building. Remember the traitor who marched right into the Capitol Building on 1/6 carrying a Confederate flag? That didn't even happen during the Civil War. There were plenty of Confederate flags, and Christian Nationalist flags surrounding the building on 1/6, Trump flags on sharpened flagpoles and a gallows, too. Same thing. This is the normalization of Christian Nationalism (Code for Nazism) at work. The next step, of course, will be the open display of swastika flags which is a dream that republicans everywhere have been having since the mid-1960s. Christ, I'm having to write this on Memorial Day weekend, no less. Good people died fighting against this shit.

Please note that Samuel Alito was appointed by another Nazi sympathizer, a thing called George W. Bush. Bush nominated him for the Supreme Court while the spectacularly heinous Arlen Specter (R-PA) was Judiciary Chairman in the Senate and the republicans had just enough votes to get Alito through, even without the 3 or 4 red state democrats/"independents" who joined them. Even with that, as bad of a candidate for president that Tennessee democrat Al Gore was when he ran against Bush, it's highly unlikely that Gore would have nominated Samuel Alito to anything at all had he became president instead of a conservative servile nutball like Bush. The existence of Alito's ability to destroy America from a position of power is a splendid example of the old adage that elections, stolen in Florida or not (with the help of far right anti-American lunatics on the court), have consequences. The divide between the greater and lesser of two evils may be narrow sometimes, but it is just as real and meaningful.

That leads us to Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin. Schumer is the current Senate Majority Leader. Durbin is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Here's a thought: How about hearings to investigate Alito? Clarence "Clearance Sale" Thomas and Roberts, too! You know, like Congress used to investigate the Cosa Nostra or assassinations but maybe more thoroughly this time. Isn't a federal court system bought off by billionaires with Hitler Gardens and infiltrated by pro-Nazi and pro-Russia subversives who hide behind their gavels and robes at least as dangerous to the future of this country as the Mafia or rogue CIA assets? Yeah, the Senate could hold hearings that actually amount to something for once, emphasis could. Apparently, ol' go along to get along Sen. Schumer doesn't think there's even any point to serving a subpoena on Alito because, like any republican, Alito feels the laws don't apply to him and wouldn't show up. Go along to get along even with Nazis? Look, I know it would take a two-thirds vote in the Senate to remove a traitorous dirtbag like Alito (or Roberts, or Thomas...) and that ain't gonna happen but going along to get along is Schumer's M.O.

Talk is, as they say, cheap. Still, making some serious noise is more than called for and doing nothing encourages more and more attacks on the rights of Americans. So, Chucky, why are you even there? Whatsamatter, Chucky, you afraid the American people might wake up to the fact that you've all just been there just to protect your own and feed on the gravy train? You afraid Americans might actually wake up and demand better of you all? Remember, even the Watergate hearing started small before it all became a firestorm. Alito, Thomas, and Roberts are no different than those Watergate burglars.

Here's another thought, Chucky: Issue some subpoenas to Trump's tools on the court and, when they don't show up, have them arrested and tossed into jail in the Capitol Building basement. People like you, Chucky, think that'll set some sort of bad precedent or chain reaction of future retaliation, as if that isn't exactly what will happen when the Nazis take over anyway. Damn! Schumer, you sure don't have that vision thing! And, while I'm talking about things you total wimps are loathe to do, how about we start working on a real ethics code for federal judges that makes violating it an impeachable offense with real penalties, and then, here's another bold, innovative concept that the suits in Congress haven't ever even thought of: Enforce the damn thing! You act like Americans might be appalled at the sight of seeing any of you Washington types dragged off by the hair to prison. Dear, dear Chucky, treasonous judges who see themselves as little but political opperatives in dungeons can be a beautiful thing! I want to know that I can tune in some sort of "Judge In A Dungeon Cam" on some sort of congressional website or public access TV channel 24 hours a day! Just make it so they can hear me rag on them or play them Bartok, Anthony Braxton, or Ornette Coleman all day and night.

We will now sit back and watch Schumer do nothing other than utter a few meaningless words, a few faint peeps from a chickenshit Vichy Collaborator. For decades, we have had Republicans using the strategy of "Elections don't matter if you can control the courts" which is why they've never liked the idea of people actually, you know, voting. Well, non-Repugs at least. Chucky goes along even with that. If he didn't, he and his kind would give us a reason to vote for him. He Chucky, who's side you on? That's a rhetorical question of course.

the guestcrapper says we should look to a couple of 3rd party platforms that he mentions. Many people have but they know that it's all too easy to offer a pie in the sky platform when you know you don't have a realistic chance of every having your bluff called. Or, like Jill Stein, have to answer to Mike Flynn and Putin. Crapper, your all thing is all about sitting on your ass and happily watching everything go to hell faster. you and Steve Bannon.

Some really poignant kvetching herein. But I still ask what's the point if nobody is going to change anything?

"Christ, I'm having to write this on Memorial Day weekend, no less. Good people died fighting against this shit."

Sad but true. Sadder but also true is that this is the 56th consecutive Memorial Day where nobody who votes has done so in support of the 70 million who died fighting this shit. Because of this I suspect that the next one will be declared to be in memory of the victory of the nazis and the beginning of the reich.
