Midnight Meme Of The Day! Robert Reich States A Truth That's Obvious To Too Few!

by Noah

Robert Reich's pointed sarcasm (above) needs to be spread around a lot more than it is even if too many of us are too dumb or manipulated to get it. And, it leads to the eternal questions of why do voters, Republican voters most of all, keep voting for the politicians who always hurt them the most. The alternative of the incremental societal gains provided by Democrats is bad enough but Republican voters are even more gullible and more prone to having their emotions swayed by people who amount to slick patent medicine sellers and total con artists who wrap their messages in a package of fear, suspicion, and hate of "the other," even managing to hide their dreams of a nazi style autocracy as a remedy in plain sight.

Did I say gullible? You bet. It's either that or goals of extreme self harm. How else do you explain the repeated election of those politicians who craft legislation like the Trump-Ryan Tax Scam of 2017 or take the lion's share of graft from CEOs and billionaire Hitler worshipers? How else do you explain a huge portion of the populace still buying into crackpot dreams of the magic trickle down sold to them by the worst our political class has to offer? Or, more to the point of the Robert Reich quote above, voters getting behind union busting with their votes and then feeling cheated by "the government" because their wages buy less and less with each passing election cycle. Oh and how about I mention that the children of this victimized populace are getting a worse and worse education, a deliberate dumb down, also with each passing election cycle. You know, like why have those kids learn anything about history when a big blank space about that in their brains makes it easier to pull the wool over their eyes for the rest of their lives?

The alternative of only incremental gains provided by Democrats is bad enough. One big reason is, of course, that the politicians that too many gullible and naive voters vote for hate the same people their target voters hate and they are masters in the manipulation of the emotions of those target voters in the service of their sociopathic quest for more and more power and personal wealth at their victim's expense. The only question is what will be used next to rally those to do it. Fear of immigrants is an evergreen choice of bigots. That one has never gone away even in this country built by the sweat of immigrants. But one year people who want to tear down statues of cherished racists are added to the mix. The next year it's trans people. What's next? One thing's for sure, you're not going to get through to people whose minds are so rotted by hate that they think a beer can will turn their kid gay. The rut just gets deeper and deeper.

More to the point wrt the UAW, you have to remember that they accepted massive pay cuts in 2009 so that obamanation could refuse to do anything to the CxO caste for the 2008 crash and "save" the auto industry (so they could move plants and jobs to mexico and canada?). Their current starting pay is about the same (maybe less) as minimum wage in several blue states and cities. And their ceiling is about half what it used to be. So Reich's sarcasm could have been even more stark. Not that anyone in this shithole maleducated since the '60s could do the math.

Robert Reich also speaks of GREEDFLATION inflation is up to a 40 year high, but corporations are making profits at a 70 year high. i thought we have laws in place to combat people from price gouging during a crisis ? instead- we get a media and politicians that are twisting themselves into knots , trying to blame everything on Biden instead of the republicans that wont allow us to go after these criminals (yes criminals) with a windfall tax that attacks those criminals. this is what the republicans have instead of a platform. since the media seems to be more than happy to attack biden while ignoring the republicans , the republicans have nothing to lose by b…
