A word about Republican leaders like Marjorie Traitor Greene: We can laugh about all these people who say things about Democrats controlling the weather, but more and more people are losing their lives due to bigger and bigger storms. The personal and societal economic costs are also exploding, yet the people who share Marjorie Traitor Greene's world view and party designation have spent years calling "Climate Change" a hoax and defeating attempts to rein it in. In a totally Orwellian move, the person the voting majority of Floridians cherish as their governor even worked with his fellow MAGAts in the state's legislature to outlaw the use of the phrase "Climate Change." How's that working for the millions of morons in that state who voted for him and other champions of human misery like MTG's bestie Matt Gaetz, Rick Scott and Marko Rubio, let alone all those state representatives? Living in Florida is now like playing Russian Roulette with 2 or 3 bullets in the chambers instead of just one.
And another word about this: I know that there are many naive people out there that have become addicted to saying that the people I just mentioned above are exceptions and that they don't really represent the entity formerly known as the GOP. However, it is suicidal on our part to think the people I mentioned are any kind of exception to the rule of what their party is and has been about. Some of their MAGA Party may pretend to not like them and not like the party's Dear Leader Donald Trump, too, but the proof of where they really stand is that these homicidal nihilists are still in office and most have been reelected more than once by voters who are just as bad. Have they voted out or kicked Traitor-Greene out of the House? No. Did they make Trump their nominee for president? They've done that one 3 times. It's who and what they are.
Addendum: I just saw an idiot on TV say that his town would rebuild again just like they did after Hurricane Ida. That was only 2 years ago!!! What happens when his town starts getting hit twice a year? Why does anyone live there? And by that I mean the whole damn state? Mother Nature will wipe Florida clean off the map one day but first it will cut it in 2 or 3 islands and then just shred it into scrap and sand. No one needs a machine to do that? It's already coming from the sea and sky.
OK, that's it for my ranting today. I have to go tune up my Joe Biden Super Deluxe Rig-o-Matic Voting Machine.
Sorry to say it, but mtg wasn't totally wrong. hoomans don't CONTROL weather, but we all have been AFFECTING it for 2 centuries. By burning sequestered carbon in ever-increasing amounts over the past 200 years, we've been gradually and (accelerating for the past 80 years) heating up our world such that storms are more frequent and more serious.
Perhaps this was mtg admitting that humans ARE causing climate change.
