Midnight Meme Of The Day! GOP: Making Ignorance Great Again!

by Noah "The first people a dictator puts in jail after a coup are the writers, the teachers, because these people are dangerous. They have enough vocabulary to recognize injustice and to speak out loudly about it. Let us have the courage to go on being dangerous people." - Madeleine L'Engle, American writer, as she spoke at The Library Of Congress on November 16, 1983 Hot on the heels of calling legitimate news "fake news" and chanting that "Truth isn't truth," Republicans stepped up their book banning efforts with a tyrannical George Wallace wannabe governor of a racist, homophobic, boat-parading, snake-infested, sinkhole nutstate named Florida taking the lead. Now, they've really got it snowballing downhill fast. The way we're going, the schools in the nazi states will be teaching nothing but active shooter drills, certainly not things like history, math, science, social studies, sex-ed, music, art, or foreign languages. Republicanism is a fear based approach to life that sanctifies and promulgates the fear of the unknown.

Meanwhile, Also in Flor-i-duh: Matt Gaetz walks free, for now, and when he finally kills a teen or two, the justice system that winked and took the cash will say "Who could have predicted?" Or, look at it another way: A member of Congress vs. a 17 year old girl; a male, white, rich member of Congress vs. a 17 year old girl. Again, who could have predicted?
