My! My! This is kinda peculiar when one considers that the Back Alley Abortion Party happens to embrace a terrorist group that calls themselves The Oathkeepers. Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett: Unfit to serve then, even more unfit to serve now. Shocker! Washington is not sending us its best!
Last I heard, lying to Congress under oath was called perjury but, of course, such laws are rarely enforced by the nudge-nudge & wink-wink crowd in Washington. Like I always say, Washington protects its own. In fact, to a great extent, those in Congress see protecting its own as the number one or number two reason for their very existence. "Hey, we just write the laws to keep the rabble in line. They're not for us, no way!" That's an area of true bipartisanship in Washington. Prove me wrong, please. Somebody? Anybody?
Even in the few instances where a typical slithering Washington slimeball is prosecuted and sentenced for lying to Congress, they get off with what amounts to a limp slap on the wrist. For instance, way back in 1975, Nixon Chief of Staff H.R. Haldeman, was convicted of conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and perjury over the testimony he gave to the $enate Watergate Committee. He was sentenced to 8 years at "Tennis Camp." That was quickly reduced to 4 years and he ended up serving only 18 months. Nixon Attorney General John Mitchell faced the same charges with a similar corrupt result. He ended up serving 19 months instead of his fellow gang member's 18. I guess no one wanted to set an actual precedent of punishment fitting the crime. They probably even got new suits and got to drive away in a brand new car.
Dear hatewat11:
no, he did not. he tangentially said congress protects its own, but then goes on at length about a few watergate prosecutions in the '70s.
Once reagan was elected and, especially, the DLC corrupted the democraps, perjury has become a sacrament. slick willie was clearly guilty, but his own couldn't bring themselves to say so. I'm sure wall street was lobbying the $enate to let him off so they could keep the most friendly prez in their history in office.
AND, since the DLC, democraps have NEVER brought a perjury action against any nazi, even when that perjury was obvious on its face.
to summarize: nazis do prosecute it. democraps never do.
it's NOT bipartisan. the refusal t…
crapper bot, if you read the post it's obvious that the writer would agree with you and says it better than you, so what's your point (rhetorical question) other than to say "Hey, look at me!" again?
name an instance since 1980 when a nazi perjurer was inconvenienced in the least. (see: clarence thomas).
