As the events in the cartoon above should show us, a chain is only as good as its weakest link, or, in the case of America, links. Years of dumb, easily manipulated, naive, and gullible voters sending two-legged weak links short on brains (but not on psychological problems) to Washington and state legislatures across the country and tolerating battalions of nililistic media asswipes have gotten us to where we are this very day. An average IQ of 100 or less (I'm being generous) in the populace will do that every time when voters refuse to pay attention to what they're doing and the ramifications of what's done and isn't being done in their name.
That sound you hear is the snapping of the links in the chain, one by one, then two by two, then three by three and so on. Congratulations, America!
