Trump pal Alex Jones is no aberration. People like Jones would not have gained so much prominence and wealth if there weren't so many people just like him. That goes for his friends, the people who gave him a place on the airwaves (Genesis Communications Network), his sponsors, his listeners, and of course, the general support infrastructure of the Republican Party.
Who knows how the details of Alex Jones's saga will turn out? Anyone that says they do know for sure is a fool at best. There are appeals and a labyrinth of bankruptcy laws to consider. Seeing Jones in a barrel as depicted above is a nice thought but so would seeing Alex Jones in a barrel going over Niagara Falls. Seeing Alex Jones lying in a gutter mumbling and howling while being pissed on by worm-infested stray dogs sounds good. So does air dropping him into the deepest Congo jungle with nothing more than a can of bug spray. In a more likely scenario, though, the next Republican president will eagerly hire him as their Press Secretary. One thing is for sure just taking a billion dollars from him can never be enough punishment for the evil he has done, not just to the country as a whole, but, more specifically the damage he has done to the lives of the families he has aimed his mob of devoted republican listeners at.
Jones, who Donald Trump has named as his favorite broadcaster, did what leading Republicans do. He used his position to convince others that something awful (to say the least) was a hoax, thus gleefully creating more human misery and profiting from it. In this case, it was the Sandy Hook massacre of 6 year olds and their teachers. Since then, Jones's nihilistic republican listeners have spent years constantly threatening the lives of parents and surviving family members and harassing them all in every psychotic, twisted way imaginable. Some, the few that accept that the massacre actually did happen, make a point of finding the graves of the children their insane leader Jones says didn't die. Then they urinate and defecate on the graves and send pictures. I don't know what's more shocking, the fact that people do this or the fact that any decent, normal human being can speak to any republican at all. Personally, I keep my distance as much as possible and regard them as the mental lepers that they are.
we often forget the total ubiquity of the shithole.
there will always be purely evil motherfuckers like aj. humankind just can't help itself.
but for the likes of this turd to become wealthy spewing his bile requires a LOT of enablement.
a vast audience of like-dormant-minded hateful evil shit
a lot of money from a lot of sponsors/advertisers.
and, of course, the absence of laws and standards to prevent him from doing it.
when you think about it, it is probably most disturbing to realize that those sponsors/advertisers actually make money because of the size and (dearth of) quality of the audience.
is it even useful to continue to point out that he (and entire networks of similar shit) exist…
