Complacency is the Devil's workshop.
With the above cartoon, Tom Tomorrow has accurately captured the lightweight talking heads that plague our country and obviously believe their job is to put Americans to sleep or should I say, keep them from ever waking up. Even when they do manage to report the horrors of the day with at least a hint of emotion, way too many of them then go out of their way to put a cheerful or slightly distorted spin on things and then take a "Let us never speak of this again" approach followed by a cut to warm and fuzzy commercials for grilled cheese. Lately, the case in point has been their penchant for calling Manchin & Sinema moderates instead of rightwing sociopaths like their nazi brethren "across" the aisle.
A dear friend just got "death paneled" by her insurance company...denied a treatment that might save her life. Another friend started a GoFundMe page so that she might at least get some of the treatment so she can live long enough to see her youngest celebrate her 21st birthday in a few months. Merry Christmas.
not the world. america.
I've been seeing commercials appealing to charity in order that american kids get enough to eat.
it's sad that americans are too stupid to understand that in the richest nation in the history of this rock, these commercials are really an indictment of the nation that relentlessly allows such things. And it isn't just the fault of the evil ones. It's the fault of the less evil ones just as much.
part of this stupidity is making language lose all meaning. nazi democraps are really moderate. and nazis are really fascists. and greed is good. can't feed kids because it costs too much. and so forth.
