Exit polling in the FL-06 special election to replace Mike Walz, now Trump’s national security advisor, is not at all reflective of the R+14 PVI— nor of the DCCC’s pig-headed refusal to get involved in the race. It’s more reflective of the smart race progressive Democrat Josh Weil is running, the $10 million he’s raised and the unfitness for public office of his extremist opponent, Randy Fine. Exit polls don’t just show Weil cleaning up among Democrats, they show him winning overwhelmingly among independent voters and ever taking over one in ten registered Republicans. His endorsement this week by Bernie Sanders, who is admired by voters on both sides of the aisle, further scrambled the race.
This ad, by Bernie media guys Mark Longabaugh and Joe Caiazzo, is blanketing the FL-06 airwaves. If you want to help keep in running for the next 14 days, which is the last day of voting, you can contribute here.

One target, Long Island moderate Tom Suozzi, laughed in their faces. “Bring it on," he told me last night. “While the NRCC focuses on typical, cheap political hits, I’ll focus on fighting for my constituents!” Last year, while Trump won his district by 4 points, Suozzi beat the hand-picked MAGA candidate they ran against him by around the same margin in reverse, winning in the parts of all three counties that make up the district.
Even if the DCCC is sitting on their hands, progressive Members of Congress who have endorsed Josh include Ro Khanna (CA), Ted Lieu (CA) and Mark Pocan (WI). Pocan: “We need a strong Democrat like Josh Weil in Congress more than ever. To fight back against the Trump/Musk administration, we need our best fighters. Josh will fight for working people everyday!” Lieu: “We need more educators like Josh Weil in Congress. As the Trump Administration defunds public schools, we need representatives in the House who have seen the impact of these cuts on our communities. Josh will fight for Florida’s students, families, and teachers every day, and I’m proud to support him and his campaign for Congress.”
