FDR won Arizona all 4 times he ran and in 1948, Harry Truman won the state as well. After that, Arizona tuned into something of a red hellhole, although Bill Clinton managed to narrowly win it in 1996 with a 46.5% plurality. Trump nearly lost it in 2016 (48.7%) but 4 years later he actually did lose it— by just 10,557 votes:

• Biden- 49.4%

• Trump- 49.1%

Biden won Apache, Coconino, Maricopa, Pima and Santa Cruz counties. Trump won the other 10. Close to 62% of Arizonans live in Maricopa County— Phoenix and suburbs. The county has been moving towards the Democrats for some time now. The Republicans in the legislature, who are used to having their way are not going to givee up power without a fight. Right now, the gerrymandered legislature consists of 16 Republican senators and 14 Democratic senators and 31 Republican state Reps and 29 Democratic state Reps. The governor, attorney general and secretary of state are all Democrats.

State Senator Anthony Kern never went to prison for being a fake elector in 2020— nor for his role at the J-6 insurrection in DC. He should have been. Instead, he’s still in the legislature, crazy as a loon and still trying to overturn democracy. His latest trick is to give the state legislature— rather than the voters— the right to determine which presidential candidate wins the election. 

Kern is currently running for the open congressional seat that Debbie Lesko is retiring from. He’s up against over a dozen MAGAts including former Congressman Trent Franks, failed 2022 Senate nominee Blake Masters, House Speaker Ben Toma and failed 2022 Attorney General nominee Abe Hamadeh, who has been endorsed by Señor Trumpanzee. Kern was sorely disappointed his pal didn't endorse him.
