Condoned?
Killing is not condoned.
But something is rotten.
A man whose actions resulted in the deaths of 7 people on Jan 6 is about to become our president.
A paranoid young man crosses state lines with a gun, kills 2 people and becomes a right-wing hero.
An over zealous ‘Good Samaritan’ kills a mentally disturbed person in the subway.
These men walk free.
A man who oversees policies— that cause untold suffering and even death for people when they are most vulnerable— is well respected and considered a good example of an American success story.
When he is murdered, his killer is pursued like the nation’s fate hangs in the balance as the rich and powerful clutch their pearls and hand in hand with the mainstream media offer self righteous platitudes about murder and morality but continue their hypocritical silence about the injustices, pain and death that they cause each and every day in order to preserve their own wealth and power.
I suspect that if Luigi had killed a poor black man or a Mexican immigrant, he’d be on a tropical beach enjoying a drink instead of languishing in jail.
Killing is not condoned…
or is it…?
depending on who gets killed and who does the killing.
Something is very rotten. Rotten indeed.
